Bronze sestertius, AD 121-123. Rome.
Obv: IMP CAESAR TRAIAN HADRIANVS AVG, laureate and cuirassed bust right, slight drapery on shoulder. Rev: P M TR P COS III, Ceres standing left, holding corn-ears and long torch; S-C across fields.

Rarity: Rare with this bust type; undoubtedly among the finest to come to auction.
Provenance: from the Euclidean Collection; acquired from DRG Coins & Antiquities, December 2017; ex Frederick S. Clark Collection, accompanied by letter from S. A. Castle (Department of Coins and Medals at British Museum, dated 17th July 1970), stating the superiority of the present coin to the British Museum example.
